In Breda, there are several options to start a community vegetable garden. For instance, you can do this through the Bredase Amateur Gardener Association. This is what five friends from Breda decided to do. The result? A mountain of fresh vegetables and fruits that taste much better than those from the supermarket, and a real sense of community!

Imagine you have an old plant that no longer has a place in your home or garden. It would be a shame to throw it away, wouldn't it? Especially if the plant is still healthy. At the Garden Plant Cycle, you can bring all your old plants and also take new ones home with you! This way, we are more conscious about the greenery we bring into our homes.

In Breda, there are several initiatives and businesses that want to work circularly with specific products. ZoetZuur&Zout is a perfect example of what can be done with residual streams in the food industry that are not being used. For example, jam is made from fruit that doesn't end up in supermarkets, and the residual streams from that process are used for things like chicken feed!

Instead of buying something new, you can also choose to swap your belongings! In Breda, there are various swap initiatives: from mini-libraries to grooming products. A concept that is still unknown to many: Repair Cafés! Here you can go to repair all your broken items. A group of (skilled) volunteers lovingly make your items usable again. Breda also has a number of Repair Cafés. It's fun to join as a volunteer or of course to give your items a second life!
