Existence, according to the mythology of the African diaspora, is possible only when the minds of people are in harmony.

Bori: During the ritual, dishes called "dry food" — made from ingredients such as rice, fradinho beans, and dendê oil — are poured onto the head in a form of worship. These foods are also served to the orixás - the gods of Yoruba mythology - to invoke protection for the individuals. In the film, a newcomer to Candomblé lies down on a mat to feed her head. In her dreams, the orixás reveal themselves, tell their stories, feed her head and herself, and feed the newly initiated woman with her ancestral history. These passages are intertwined with popular Brazilian dances rooted in African cultural origins.

The viewer is invited to think about what we offer our individual heads - what 'food' feeds our dreams and our will to live?

Arguine Escandón & Yann Gross
Arguiñe Escandón and Yann Gross discovered the work of pioneering photographer Charles Kroehle (1876-1902) through an early 20th century postcard. Their research revealed Kroehle's extensive work in the Peruvian Amazon, as well as his colonialist outlook. For the installation of their project Aya - meaning spirit, soul or spirit in the Quichua language - they combine original, ancient images of Kroehle with their own organically printed photographs, creating a dialogue between two divergent points: the historical, often stereotypical representation of the Amazon landscape and its inhabitants, and one's own sensory experience.
