Green route through Breda

This green city walk introduces you to sustainable entrepreneurs in Breda. Involved people, all trying in their own way to raise awareness and initiate a positive movement.
Hotspots where you can shop without packaging, restaurants where you can enjoy delicious (vegan) food and where they waste as little as possible.

This route of 5.5 km also takes you past the greenest spots in Breda, such as city parks and hidden gardens. The route runs from the city centre via Oranje Zuid to Ginneken!

Creative route through Breda

In Breda, we like to make life a bit more beautiful. For now and for the future. Here, creatives are given the space to experiment and discover.

The Explore Creative Breda route takes you along a number of creative hotspots in Breda. Surprising places that are sustainable and, above all, creative in their own way. Whether as a shop, hospitable restaurant, or cultural place. In the historic city centre and in the industrial Havenkwartier.

Blind Walls Gallery

Blind Walls Gallery is a street museum. A growing collection of over 80 murals created by international artists. Each mural is based on a Breda story that fits the location. Guides from Blind Walls Gallery provide tours along the artworks, talking about the murals, the artists, and the stories that inspired them. Such a tour is an alternative way to discover the city; with unique locations, good stories, and beautiful street art.

At blindwalls.gallery, you can find everything you need to know. You can also discover cycling and walking routes, and information about the new audio guide.

TIp with children: Toeractief created a 6.5-kilometre walk with street art as a connecting theme. During the walk, you'll pass by several playgrounds, making it even more enjoyable!

With The Historical Kilometre, you can learn all about the history of Breda during a walk through the city centre. We have created an online tour for you to follow in the footsteps of our Nassau ancestors.

Liberation walk through Breda

On 29th of October 1944, Breda was liberated by the 1st Polish Armoured Division. In several places in the city centre of Breda, you can find monuments and statues that commemorate the Second World War and the liberation.

We took a walk along these places. To commemorate the people who died and honour our Polish liberators.

Hip Ambacht - Breda's nine little streets

Near Het Kasteel van Breda, right in the centre, many craftsmen and artists used to work. You could make a good living close to the wealthy castle residents. In the historic centre of Breda, you can still find artisanal businesses where skilled workers create beautiful things. The Hip Ambacht route will take you to all these special places, such as the laser cutting workshop of Brandpunt or the goldsmith Goudmerk. And of course, you can't miss out on eating homemade pastries at Van Haaren!
You can also take this walk with a guide from Breda Promotions.

Food & Boots Hike

The Foods & Boots walk tells the story of Breda as a garrison town. The route passes important military buildings in the city and tells about the history of this military heritage. In addition, attention is paid to craftsmen and industries that have benefited from the army in the city over the centuries. Think of chocolate, beer, potatoes, vegetables, and fruit.
You start in the new development area, the Gasthuisvelden, in the city centre. Space has been added to the city by unlocking a barracks site. In a few years, the connection to the river Nieuwe Mark will also be completed here.
You can also take this walk guided by a guide from Breda Promotions.

Spanish Tour Breda

Historically, Breda has had a special relationship with Spain. Hendrik III van Nassau held an important position at the Burgundian court. He and his Spanish wife, Mencia de Mendoze, meant a lot to Breda. Even the Spanish occupation during the Eighty Years' War did not go unnoticed in Breda.

The Spanish Round route goes through the Burgundian city centre of Breda, where you will be enchanted by the luxury of the Burgundian court and fascinated by the political power play. Viva España olé!
You can also take this walk led by a guide from Breda Promotions.
