Put on your walking shoes or hop on your bike to enjoy the countryside of Prinsenbeek! Take a walk in the Liesbos or explore 'het Koeienpad' that runs between Prinsenbeek and Zevenbergen.

    Walk in Liesbos

The Liesbos is located south of Prinsenbeek and is a wonderful place for walking! Did you know that the Liesbos is the largest old summer oak forest in the Netherlands? Characteristic are also the monumental avenues, created for the hunting of the former noble owners to move their hunting carriages quickly and comfortably. Special is 'het rondje', also known as Hemeltje, with a large, old plane tree, surrounded by beech trees, some of which have fallen over. The plane tree is used as a 'fever tree or patch tree'.

Length of the yellow route: 2.9 kilometres
Starting point: P-place, Leursebaan (N636), Breda

This cycle path runs from Café de Elsakker along Nieuwveerweg and the Haagsedijk to the Zwartenbergse mill near Leur. The first part of this path is also called the Het Koeienpad by residents, because in the summer cows are often grazing here.

    Walk 'Around Prinsenbeek'

Fancy a slightly longer walk? Then go for a stroll around Prinsenbeek. Walk straight through the Liesbos, the Hooiberg and through the polder. The walking route takes you through the greenery. Fancy a pit stop? In Prinsenbeek, you will find different catering points, but in the Liesbos, you will find De Boschwachter, where you can also grab a nice coffee (to go)!

    New Nature Reserve

Did you know that a new nature reserve is being developed close to Prinsenbeek? In the backyard of Breda, a robust nature reserve is emerging with wet marshes and water pools: Weimeren. A unique area where otters and special birds will feel at home.

Tip: the area is being developed, but you can already go for a walk here!

    Hidden hiking trail 'het Lies'

There is a hidden hiking trail around the property of De Heerenboeren where you can enjoy the peace and spacious lanes. Nature is being restored here: the pond is a nice habitat for amphibians and the habitat of the partridge is being improved.
